About The Role

Hybrid working - Flexible base location across our 13 offices.

We are looking for a confident L&D professional with at least 5 years+ experience working within an L&D function in a design/delivery role. Proficient in all areas of the learning cycle, you should be an excellent communicator with a passion for learning and a proven track record in a professional services environment. You should be capable of managing stakeholder relationships and have an in depth knowledge of how to develop innovative and insightful learning content.

You will be responsible for providing development opportunities in line with our learning framework across a range of skill areas. Your focus will primarily be our lawyers from paralegal level through to senior associate in addition to supporting our support and administrative functions with their bespoke development needs. You will also be responsible for managing and expanding the utilisation of our Learning Management System.

You will have experience of designing and delivering a range of blended learning solutions to support personal development at all levels, along with experience of developing bespoke eLearning packages.

Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, this position operates on a hybrid basis, combining remote working with time spent in any one of our 13 offices. Travel will be required to meet the needs of the business. You will also be responsible for the line management of the L&D Coordinator and will chair the Learning Leads working group, bringing together learning champions from across the business to share learning updates and training needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design and delivery of generic legal skills training such as time recording, drafting and research skills.
  • Design and deliver engaging learning products, workshops, materials and e-learning content for key personal development areas
  • Managing all requests for external legal training, including attendance at conferences or events in the pursuit of legal/professional development.
  • Collaborate with our Heads of Teams and Learning Leads to identify training needs and curate and provide a range of learning resources that meets their needs.
  • Identify and collaborate with other business sponsors, subject matter experts, and external partners to drive relevant and effective learning solutions throughout the business.
  • Ensure the value of the firm’s investment in knowledge management, MBL and library resources can be optimised and best meet the needs of users, leveraging supplier and account managers.
  • Making resources accessible via the Learning Management System (LMS) and aligned to career and learning pathways.
  • Manage and source external providers, ensuring partnerships with external vendors are optimised and measured for impact and commercial value.
  • Recommend and implement iterative improvements to existing courses and programmes.
 

About You

As a Learning & Development professional, you will have the following experience/skillset,

  • Thorough and demonstrable knowledge of all aspects of the learning cycle, ideally supported by a Level 5 (or above) qualification in CIPD L&D, TAP or similar L&D focussed qualification.
  • Experienced in designing and delivering a range of blended learning solutions, using a range of delivery vehicles and techniques.
  • Excellent IT skills including good knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel – knowledge. Prior use of LMS is essential.
  • Experienced in using eLearning packages for the design and development of digital resources such as Articulate, Captivate, Vyond or Canva.
  • Previous law firm experience is desirable, professional services experience at a minimum
  • Strong project management skills and a proven track record in designing and delivering learning events ranging from small cohorts to team away days and conferences.
  • The ability to work using own initiative and as a team member, maintaining a professional positive attitude at all times.
  • Ability to seek out and engage business sponsors, subject matter experts to validate and support learning initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to create material that is memorable and engaging.
  • Effective stakeholder management.
  • Commercial focus required of a legal setting, mindful of context of the sector and importance of proportionality and appropriate learning vehicle to meet the objective.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and with confidence at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with written content, including copy and proofing.
  • Flexible and adaptable (solutions focused when faced with changing priorities).
