About The Role

Here at HCR Hewitsons we are currently looking for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our Agricultural and Rural Affairs team.

The team has a wealth of experience working with landed estates, farmers, rural  landowners and businesses or high net worth individuals, supporting on a range of agricultural and rural services. This includes dealing with all aspects of property ownership and management whether   buying and selling property, negotiating tenancies, or  dealing with farm management. The HCR Hewitsons team is known for its understanding of the sector and with expertise in business and succession planning   The team’s rural clients include landed charities , landowners involved in renewables, promoting or selling for development, habitat banking or involvement in  biodiversity management.   

What we need you to do:

  • Work on a range of matters within the team’s specialisms and with a range of clients-to develop your own particular area of expertise
  • Develop and maintain knowledge on issues within Agriculture, keeping ahead of new developments in a changing sector  working collaboratively with experts in the sector from across the firm to share knowledge.
  • Develop opportunities for the referral of work across the business and actively participate in business development opportunities.

About You

  • The candidate will ideally have worked in rural property previously and with some experience of succession planning and/or partnerships . However applications form candidates with a mixed property experience are welcomed
  • 5+ years PQE
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and successfully manage client relationships
  • Excellent technical ability and drafting skills
  • Can demonstrate teamwork and relationship building skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Proactive, ambitious and organised with a keen eye for detail
